1920 US Census
The 1920 Federal survey was the first census which enumerated a population exceeding 100 million since 1790.
The United States Census Bureau conducted its Fourteenth official enumeration of population on January 5, 1920. The Federal marshals were given thirty days to complete the census count. The United States Constitution directs to perform census once every 10 years, therefore, after 1920 the next decennial census was collected in the year 1930
This Census determined the resident population of the 48 states to be 106,021,537, an increase of 15.0 % over 1910 census report. During the Fourteenth US Census, Alaska and Hawaii were still territories until 1959.
